Climate and Culture
- Just as in other western countries, Swiss teens wear casual clothes, although the same outfit is typically worn for several days.

- Because Swiss teenagers participate in many sports, they wear typical sporting clothes while bicycling or engaging in after-school sports.
- Popular brands include Adidas, Nike and Puma.
- The swiss wear a lot of environmentally friendly clothes.

- With Switzerland being home to the Alps, it is common to wear a lot of layers. Layers are typically worn for comfort rather than style.
- Larger cities such as Zurich and Geneva, it is nearly impossible to dress too nice.
Traditional Dress
- Smocks are very common in Switzerland. Generally, smocks were reserved for school. In fact, according to the Historical Clothing website, it was compulsory for 9-10 year old boys from 1930s to 1960s.
- The Swiss still wear traditional costumes at their parades and festivals.
- Boys and men wear blue canvas jackets.
- Girls and women long sleeved jackets, silk aprons and straw with ribbons dangling from the brim.
